Each visitor can leave a single word. It joins the others, drifting through space, forming accidental phrases with its neighbors. Each new word nudges the oldest one out of the drift; only the fifty most recent remain. The poem is never the same twice. A small set of connective words — the, and, but, in — are always present, providing structure for the rest.
